Highlander Or I could stay.. I'd like that Highlander

"Deliverance" featured a scene in Europe omitted from the U.S. broadcast, which took place on the barge at the end of the episode. The scene explained Rachel MacLeod's presence in Paris in "Promises" and tied up a few loose ends.

They left the car at Shakespeare & Co. and walked back to the barge. As they walked down the steps onto the Quai, Duncan dug his hands into his coat pockets.

"I'm warning you, I trashed the place," he said. "This is a mess. I haven't been myself lately."

Methos smiled wryly. "You know, I hadn't noticed," he said.

Inside the barge, a woman was picking up the scattered furniture. As the two Immortals walked in, she stopped and turned round to face them. "Rachel?" asked Duncan, surprised to see anyone on the barge, let alone Rachel MacLeod. She shrugged.

I hadn't noticed Rachel The convincing lad And persistent

"I hope you don't mind. I was just ... picking up..." Her voice tailed off and she bent down to pick things up from the floor at her feet. For a moment, Duncan was uncertain what to say.

"Err, no," he started, then, "What are you doing here?" Rachel walked over to the shelves at the side of the barge as she spoke, tidying away the things she had picked up.

"Your friend said you were in trouble and that you needed the sword, so I gave it to him. The convincing lad," she added, turning to face them. Duncan looked back at Methos. The convincing lad was busying himself picking up books off the floor.

"And a persistent one, too," said Duncan, more to Methos than Rachel.

"And then I started thinking," continued Rachel, "when I was in danger and the MacLeod clan needed you, you helped us. I thought it was my turn." She looked up at him. "You are in trouble, aren't you?"

"Not any more," said Duncan, unable to keep the tiredness from his face.

"Oh," said Rachel, " I guess I can go then." She picked up her coat from the couch, ready to leave, but Duncan stepped forward.

"No, you..." He gestured expansively. Methos watched the exchange between them. That was eloquent, he thought. The two MacLeods looked at each other for a long moment. It was Rachel who broke the silence.

"Or I could stay, if you like," she offered, smiling. Duncan smiled as well.

You are in trouble Methos Hoping If you like

"Yeah, I'd like that," he said. Methos watched them, unable to keep his face straight any longer.

"Listen, I'd love to stay and chat," he said, "but I've left Alexa in Athens." Rachel turned away, embarrassed slightly. Methos looked at the small statues in his hands, uncertain what to with them. He settled for placing them on the hearth at his feet. "I'll just leave these."

"Yeah, thanks," said Duncan, still watching Rachel's face, trying to read her thoughts.

"You kids be good!" said Methos, turning for the door. Duncan stepped after him.

"Er, Adam," he started. Methos stopped and turned round. Duncan held out his hand. "Um, look. Look, er." Methos nodded and patted Duncan's arm.

"No big deal," he said, then he was gone. Duncan turned back to face Rachel, who had watched the exchange between them.

"Good friend you have there," she observed. Duncan looked up, but in his mind's eye he remembered what Methos had done, what he had said.

"Yes, one of the best," he said ruefully. He turned to look straight at her and smiled.
